Movie update

Spud the movie is well on track for a 2010 shoot and cinema release. Casting for the movie will begin in August 2009.

Information about how to audition will be available at www.spudthemovie.com from 15 July when the film’s website launches. Visit the website from that date to find out when, where and how to audition.

There will also be an online process so that we can go to the ends of the earth or least the ends of Mpumalanga to find our Fatty and the rest of the crazy Spud characters.

  7. Read the cast briefing carefully and pick the role that is best suited to your own personality.... maybe ask some friends and family which character they think suits you best.

  9. I absolutely love spud and want to be in the movie...as i believe that this could be the stepping stone to my career. I enjoy acting and have a background of doing many shows at Durban's Playhouse and Sneddon Theatre with the known Daniel Botha. However I have a slight problem in that i am only twelve(but i do look well sort of old! for my age) and i have black hair although i am a tom boy i am fun and i do have ounces of self belief! So the part i am most suited for is CRISTINE. But my only problem is my age. What should I do.

ps. i truly enjoyed John's humourous and enjoyable talk at my school (Durban Girl's College) today!

  10. HEY HEY HEY

I AM LOVING THE FACT THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN COMEDY FOR THE WORLD TO ENJOY! It makes you think that anything is possible :D
I have sent in an application for a chance to audition as Christine because i am a fun tommboy that loves life and believes that you can do what ever you put your mind to.............my life motto.
but i was wondering if it is being filmed during holidays because if it isn't then how are we supposed to catch up on work?
    LOVE THE LIZZY LIFE....
    LIZZ...O!

I LOVED JOHN'S TALK AT OUR SCHOOL (Durban Girls' College) ON TUESDAY,IT WAS SO AWESOME AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

  19. Hi 'Spud Team'
I was completely uninformed about rehearsals in the Spud movie, but I am now. Unfortunately I am really late and I'm guessing there will be no more 'first' auditions. I'm wondering if I could either have a live audition (somehow) or if not, would you still accept an audition video? I live in Durban and am keen for the Rambo role. I am extremely interested and feel the role suits me. Please reply.
